Angry Mother Nature

Have ever seen a day without sunset? Have you ever met a person without feelings? Just on these days on earth, we witness the pain of mankind and there is no response… We see earthquakes, tsunami’s, flames, storms. But what do we all do for this…Just sit and enjoy the comfort… Makes no sense… The truth is we are losing our last hopes; we are losing ourselves. Without humanity, we can neither endure the mother nature nor mother nature can endure us anymore. Since we have started to cut her hair (trees), she took an oath to take her revenge. As she started to do it, we took a breath and started to scavenge. Regrettably, this time garbage is us. We often forget that the earth is dying under our eyes, while we are actually living on it. If we lose it, we lose our lives too. Now can you tell what is that anger for, why are you mad with nature ? For using it as food, warmth, sheltering resource ? Let me tell you why. You haven’t been satisfied yet for 10.000 years of mankind history. Wanting more and more made you rapacious creatures instead of human beings. Don’t you understand that world cannot handle it anymore? Our dirt, our crimes, our destruction…We must stop this today because we don’t have much time since earth started to put an end to itself. Mother Nature is tired all of these events. Before it ends, think again and do something to save the earth; if you want to live longer….

My Ideal God

Everyone has got an ‘ideal god’ in their minds. My ideal god must understand human beings and he must reward them for their efforts. Also, He must protect human beings from bad things happening. He must send messages and communicate with us. On the other hand, humans have got some responsibilities to god. They must show respect to god and they also have to work hard.

 Berk Aybey, Fen 2

In my opinion, an ideal god must be forgiving, must have justice, must respect values of all beings and must be fair. In our short-story, god of gods, Zeus, is a tyrant who only wants humans to be slaves to him and sees them as unfaithful and rebellious if they raise their voices even when they only demand their basic needs. He is selfish because he just thinks of his own status and position, thinking that they are worthless. He is jealous of Prometheus who has a great relationship with human beings which makes him an ideal god. He is caring and supportive because he defends human beings against Zeus. He risks his life by giving the secret of fire to human beings, knowing that Zeus will punish him. All in all, Prometheus has all the values that a god should have and they are similar to the values in my mind and this makes him an ideal god.

 Umut Kaplan, Fen 2

“They” have been using religions to manipulate their people because it’s almost the best way to manipulate. When we believe in abstract things, we can’t disprove them even if we believe in religion. I think that gods in religions are unfair. For example, Zeus calls human beings rebels and grumblers when their only wish is to survive the winter conditions. If we believe in a religion, we must choose one whose god is fair, selfless and free from jealousy.

Onur Akça, Fen 2

In my opinion, the ideal god must be like Prometheus, who helps human beings. He is very brave because in the myth we read, he gives the secret of fire to humans although he is not allowed to. This makes him unfaithful to Zeus and being unfaithful might sometimes be a bad thing. On the other hand, an ideal god mustn’t be selfish just like Zeus who didn’t care about problems of human beings. He didn’t give the secret of fire because he didn’t want human beings to be more powerful than him so this makes him selfish and power-centred. He thinks human beings are his slaves. As a result, an ideal god and Zeus are very different concepts for me.

Is City A Perfect Place To Live?

Today many people want to live in a big city. Okay, the big city has some advantages but also has a lot of disadvantages. People don’t think about this. They only see the advantages. For example, in the big city you can go to concerts, movies, shops and so forth easily. However, cities are dangerous. You can’t go out alone in the evening. there are many people, many cars, many buildings and so there is too much of everything! As a result, danger of living the city is great. Yet, people want to live here. In addition to this, there is pollution. You can’t even breathe easily. You feel like you are suffocating. We have to do something to change these problems because this is where we live.

Can we adapt Amish life into ours?

I think I could adapt helpful and peaceful characteristics of Amish people to my life. Firstly, I would like to be helpful to my community, too. For example, when one Amish doesn’t feel well, the other farmers take their place. If an Amish person’s farmer burns, all the people in the community get together to help him build the farm in two days. If this idea spreads, the world will be heaven. Secondly, I want to live in peace like Amish people because I don’t want to see how people get killed and I don’t want to live in violence nor want to see wars.     If I don’t see these negative things happening, I will be more peaceful as well as all the people in my community.

On the other hand, I think I couldn’t adapt non-technological side of Amish people to my life. They don’t use a tractor in their farm. They don’t use kitchen appliances. They take their time when these activities are done by hand. However, in a world where people use computers for chatting, games and work and use mobile phones for communicating, we are seized by technology and this seems impossible to change.

Burak Tekincan, Fen 2

I wouldn’t adapt anything from Amish people’s life to my own. They are a private community. They are living a simple life. We are living in a technological world and why should we adapt this kind of life style? Technology makes our life easier. Also, they are a religious community with strict rules. Religion makes people depend on rules which do not make sense. If it’s not enough for you, I have more to say. No one can be more important than others. All of them have equal place in their community. What is the point of working hard if there is no chance to be better than others?

Without You…

Without you . . .

I am nothing.

I am everything.

I couldn’t learn anything.

I won’t have any excitement in my life.

I would have a huge hole in my heart.

my life would become a nightmare.

my life is empty and meaningless.

I will be depressed.

I couldn’t be myself.

I wouldn’t learn the real music.

I couldn’t write this sentence.

there is no meaning of life.

nothing wouldn’t matter.

it wouldn’t be meaningful to wake up in the morning.

I would be forever alone.

I wouldn’t be me.

I am nothing.

I am everything.

I couldn’t learn anything.

I won’t have any excitement in my life.

I would have a huge hole in my heart.

my life would become a nightmare.

I will be depressed.

I couldn’t be myself.

I wouldn’t learn the real music.

I couldn’t write this sentence.

There is no meaning of life.

life would be worthless.

life would be boring.

I would have a better life.

I wouldn’t live.

I wouldn’t be me.

life is life my mother on a diet.

life is like a road that never ends.

life would be meaningless.

I will get fat because of chocolate.

I won’t have anyone to love.

everything is so hard.

how can I play haxball?

I can’t share my feelings with anyone.

nothing seems different.

I’m like an unfinished picture.

I’m still trying to survive, like I’m under water, can’t breathe.

there is no problem.

nothing would change.

I would be lonely.

I am everything.

I couldn’t learn anything.

I won’t have any excitement in my life.

I would have a huge hole in my heart.

my life would become a nightmare.

Being Young is…

         Being young is. . .

the best period of life.

having unnecessary problems.

having disappointments.

full of many rules.

getting used living with many dilemmas.

my philosophy.

not realizing that you won’t have these things in the future.

living with many limitations.

being strong.

complicated.

wisdom of brightness.

the best period of life.

having unnecessary problems.

having disappointments.

full of many rules.

getting used living with many dilemmas.

my philosophy.

not realizing that you won’t have these things in the future.

living with many limitations.

being strong.

complicated.

wisdom of brightness.

sometimes funny, but for many times having agony.

boring and disgusting if you can’t SEIZE THE DAY!

should have meant to be free.

sometimes temporary.

hard work.

so cool.

to enjoy the best part of your life.

the most enjoyable part of your life.

impossible to describe.

having fun.

throwing parties.

to sing the song : Life is Life.

making fun of everything in life.

better than being old.

the best time of your life.

like a box of chocolates.

feeling alive no matter what you do.

the joy of life.

having a rebellious spirit and naughty behaviours.

feeling wonderful every single day.

like a rainbow, you have all the colours inside.

being a hooligan.

exciting.

the taste of life.
